On Thursday, June 28th the Bikol National Association of America (BNAA) delegates depart from Legaspi City for Camarines Sur and Naga City for another round of activities slated in their honor.
It can he recalled that the arrival of these delegates in Camarines Sur was an acceptance of Gov. L-Ray Villajuerte’s invitation extended to BNAA in Seattle in Seattle Washington during their Convention in 2005.
Activities in Camarines Sur start with a Luncheon in Iriga City with no less than Mayor Madelaine Alfelor-Gazmen as host. A short fellowship with Iriguenos follow after lunch.
Then, the delegates leave for Naga City Hall for a late afternoon courtesy call with Mayor Jesse M. Robredo between 3:00 and 4:00 PM.
From the Mayor’s Office, delegates check-in at Cadlan Cabanas and Trailers follow. A brief respite to the next scheduled activity will give the delegates time for an Officers Caucus before the 7:00 evening affair. The Provincial Government will set the Welcome Tone for the delegates by way of dinner, entertainment music and fun at CWC with genial host Gov. L-Ray Villafuerte.
On Friday, June 29th the BNAA Convention Day will be held at the Cadlan Convention Center. The day starts with Breakfast and Registration at 7:00 in the morning. Convention proceedings unfurl at 9:00AM with Armando Placides, BNAA President as presiding officer. A few highlights of this convention includes Committee Reports, Assessment of Projects, and the Election of Officers for term 2007-2009.
Simultaneously, on the same day and time, the BNAA Youth Convention opens at the Universidad de Sta. Isabel Conference/Board Room. In attendance are the BNAA Scholarship Committee USA-based led by Dr. Cyril Mendez-Llaneta, Bicol BNAA Scholarship Coordinators, and about forty to fifty student scholars will be present, Agenda is to assess existing Scholarship Program, evaluation of screening process and monitoring of the scholars’ academic standing.
The Convention will be capped with a Gala Dinner again hosted by Gov. L-Ray Villafuerte.
On Saturday, June 30th after breakfast delegates drive to Patitinan, dubbed “Bicol Riviera” at Sangay, Camarines Sur for a Farewell Luncheon Party with Senen & Zayda Baron and Joe & Jenny Ordonez as hosts.
After the lunch at Patitinan, delegates return to Naga City for a Eucharistic Celebration at the Basilica Minore at 3:00 PM. After the Mass meriendacena follows hosted by the Aman Engineering Corporation. Later, delegations will view the exhibits at the 3rd Bicol Business Week at LCC Mall in Naga City. Then, back to Cadlan Cabanas.
On Sunday, July 1st Luncheon for the Delegates will be held at Pacol, with Ret. Gen. Franklin & Evelyn Bravo and Roger & Fely Odiamar. This caps the BNAA Convention for 2007.
