DAET, Camarines Norte – Two suspected members of a syndicate involved in selling fake gold bars were arrested by members of the Talisay Police Station after receiving tip that the suspects were on their way to Quezon province after having gypped a victim from the nearby province of Camarines Sur of large amount of money.

P/Insp. David Reyes, Talisay, Camarines Norte chief of police, and his four other police officers nabbed Rogelio Sulla, 40, of Tondo Manila, and Vicente Bornalo, of Tabaco,
Albay but presently residing in Guadalupe, Makati City while on board a bus to Quezon.
Narciso Manansala, 62, of Bgy. San Roque, Camaligan, Camarines Sur told the police that while in Talisay town, the two suspects who posed themselves as businessmen asked him to buy their gold bars at much lower price where he could resell it later at as much as P200,000 per bar.
It was too late for Manansala to discover that the gold bars were fake.
Recovered from the suspects were three fake gold bars, P13,900 cash and two cellphones.
In an exclusive interview with the Bicol Mail, suspect Vicente Bornalo, a Bicolano, admitted being a member of a con gang whose leader he identified only as “Junjun”.
Junjun allegedly stayed behind in Camarines Sur after getting his share of P12,000.
According to P/Inspector Reyes, it is possible that the suspects had victimized quite a good number of innocent people who were hoodwinked by the sweet-talking con men otherwise known as the “budol-budol” gang.
