        Nelson Felix y Evangelista, 20, of Arana St., this city, was about to pawn a bracelet believed to be loot from a previous snatching case when he was collared by elements of the Public Safety Office.

        A magnum cal. 22 was found in his possession during the arrest. Also confiscated was a black Honda Wave motorcycle believed to have been used in snatching and robbery activities. The suspect’s companion was able to elude arrest and is now the subject of a manhunt.

        Public Safety Office Executive Officer Lito del Rosario confirmed the suspect to be positive of shabu and marijuana use after a urine test was conducted on him. The ruine test was confirmed by the Department of Health central office in Manila.

        While being interrogated at the PSO and later at the Naga City Police Station, at least seven alleged victims turned out to positively identify Felix as the one who snatched their valuables in separate incidents.

        The 7 alleged victims were Gina Monares, 21, of Catmon, Magsasaysay Avenue; Josephine de la Torre, whose bag containing P14,000 was snatched from her while standing infront of Villa Caceres Hotel; Janet Mangente, whose bag with cash and cellphone was snatched along Panganiban Drive, May 13, at about 11:30 am.; Lourdes Aida Ann Claveria who was robbed of P8,600 cash, several cellphones and ATM cards while walking at the back of the Naga City Civic Center;

        Gemma Ceperoto, of Clupa, Calauag, this city, who while infront of the BCAT along Peñafrancia Ave. was snatched of her cellphone and cash; Leonida Señar-Ballon whose bracelet was snatched last June 4 along CBD2 road; and Jesse Agnas, a security guard whose P2,000 cash was snatched from him by the suspect.

        Del Rosario has urged the victims to press their cases against Felix to send strong signal to other criminal elements that the city government is serious in its campaign against snatchers and robbers.

        Del Rosario, however, cited the lack of PNP personnel for the increasing number of petty crimes in the city. “We are only helping, as we are complementing the depleted force of the Naga police,” he said.
